Keyword Research
Search Engine Optimisation aims to make it as easy as possible for the search
engines to index your web site and to ensure that your site is associated with
the right keywords, terms or phrases. There are a number of on-site and off-site
processes that we undertake to ensure that your site will rank as highly as
possible for the keywords you have chosen. So that when someone searches for a
particular keyword or phrase your web site will be listed as near to the top of
the page as possible.
As in natural search optimization, the right keywords are critical to the
success of your business and our campaign. We identify search queries specific
to your market when we analyse proposed keywords. And just like in natural
optimisation of your website, our trademark research is important in ensuring
you don’t waste time and money on terms that don’t convert to business.
The amount of work required to achieve a front-page listing is dependant on the
level of competition that you face for specific keywords or phrases. If your
competitors optimise their web site more effectively than you do (by spending
more money, time and effort than you) they will out rank you and will get more
traffic to their website
We have a range of search engine optimisation offerings designed to meet
everyone's needs. Which offering best meets your needs depends on two key
factors: the complexity of your site and the competitiveness of the keywords
that you wish to target.
Web Page Optimisation
To achieve a high ranking on Google and Yahoo and other major search engines your web site will need to be search engine friendly. Your web pages will need to be fully optimised to include strong keyword content, meta tags (for some search engines excluding Google), alt tags, etc. Some search engines cannot index web sites that contain frames and Flash so it's very important in these cases to take measures to ensure these sites can be indexed.Meta & Alt Tag Creation
Some search engines require meta tags and alt tags. These are simply keywords embedded into your web page code and images on your web site. What are the keywords/keyphrase end users are actually typing in to look for your business? Welcome to the world of algorithms and constant moving of goalposts! At ATMA we get to know your business and provide solutions that will drive results.
What we do to optimise your site
At the start of the project, we monitor where your website is positioned for search words and phrases that you supply as this is our benchmark position. We will undertake keyword research to find out what search terms your potential clients will be using on the search engines. Then we will determine how competitive these keywords are and start constructing the primary and secondary keywords and key phrases to target your customers.
We spend initially about 4 to 5 hours on your site to adjust keywords/content as required. More extensive work may be required should a significant restructure of the site is required.
Over about four weeks we refine our work, in close liaison with you.
Geographic keywords
Because customers often search for a local supplier, we would ask that you consider geographic terms as well if applicable. Depending on how competitive the search term (how many search results returned and quality of opposition) you will require a varying amount of time to see response for different keywords. E.g "UK Landscape Art" will respond much faster than "art". We tend to rationalise this list and focus your optimisation on the most searched phrases that we can realistically get you in the top of the search results. The phrases to be optimised for are based on practicality, popularity, interchangeability and a combination of terms which are conquerable in both a short and longer period of time. We won't give you the false hope that we can optimise for single words. To be honest, it really isn't possible to get top position for popular single global keywords without spending large amounts of time and money. For ATMA, the word 'cars' is a hyper-competitive term. Most people tend to search with multi word phrases anyway as they realise this will get them more specific, local results. Our strategy includes:
